The Horse that wanted to Fly Art Print

£15.00

(Featured in September’s print club bundle) Excerpt from the letter:

This month's painting is called “The Horse that wanted to Fly”. I have a couple weeks before my new job starts (as of last night this fortnight is now four days. )In this time I want focus on producing as much work as possible. I am using reference photos more, anything that catches my eye. I want to focus on producing work quickly, almost not giving myself time to think about it too much. I find that when I work quickly, my work seems much more authentic and less stale. I can see patterns in the way I work and ideas that pop up again and again. I think this is important when trying to figure out not only your style but your voice as an artist. This is something you carve out, not something you curate. Think less, make more. What I find interesting about this piece is that I like it because it looks unfinished. I like the oil pastel outlines and the rough edges. There is a fine line between a painting being done and a painting being overworked. If you start to over-think and fix things, you have crossed that line. The painting tells you when to stop.
