I draw most of my inspiration from ancient history and archaeology. Most of my childhood I wanted to be an archaeologist and over the last few years I have come home to this. Castles, ruins, artefacts- these things never fail to spark my imagination.

I am a collector;a hoarder. I think objects are sacred and hold a lot of power. There is a reason people bury them in precious ways and hold rituals around them; we have been doing so since the dawn of time. I grew up in rural Aberdeenshire so the foraging started young, walking dogs in forests and beach-combing on freezing rocky coasts. Everything I pick up was once part of something. It has gone on some kind of journey or was once part of someone's life. I consider my work a celebration of these objects.
