This painting was inspired by a children's toy that was excavated in Russia; a chicken made from leather, thread and silk. It was found in the Moshchevaya Balka Burial Mound and dates back to the 8th-9th century. I rarely paint people but this particular artefact pulled on my heart strings. Maybe it will be the first of more figurative works.

Print is 10" x 10" (including border).
